Length:

Mission Project is 15 days in length. Remaining days are for travel and training.

Location:

Central region around the capital city of Bujumbura, Burundi and in central city of Gitega.

Project Plan:

Evangelism and Outreach!  We will establish three to four regional crusade centers around the city of Bujumbura or Gitega and hold 14 day public evangelistic campaigns.  While this activity is under way, we will also endeavor to provide humanitarian relief to those in need by providing roofs to 2 churches to allow construction of two water collection and purification systems that will act as community centers in the region.

If you desire to go deeper in your Christian walk and are ready to experience a life of total dependence on the Lord, then this Burundi mission project may be for you!  This mission opportunity will expose you to personal ministry and discipleship challenges that may cause you to depend on God greater than you ever have.
Overview:

Step out of your comfort zone…This is a great opportunity to serve, grow, plant spiritual fruit, and minister side-by-side with others. Build a water collection and purification system, feed the homeless, minister to street people, visit an orphanage, prayer walk, and do personal and public evangelism.  If this sounds exciting, then the Bujumbura, Burundi Mission project may be for you!

What are the People Like?

The People:

Kirundi, French, and Swahili are spoken throughout Burundi

Burundi's culture is based on local tradition and the influence of neighboring countries, though cultural prominence has been hindered by civil unrest. Since farming is the main industry in Burundi, a typical Burundian meal consists of sweet potatoes, corn, and peas.  In general the people are intelligent, loving, and full of life!  While they may have little, they often enjoy much.  Your life will be touched as you make new friends here!

The main industries are tea, agriculture, and tourism.
